Fishing in the Harbor
Spectacular fishing can be found within minutes of Conn Brown Harbor. Thousands of Redfish inhabit the flats in Aransas Pass, and catching redfish that can exceed eight pounds is not uncommon. Sight fishing, fly fishing, live bait and lure fishing can be done with great success for the beginning anglers to the most advanced. Wade fishing and fishing from a kayak have become extremely popular.
A variety of fish are abundant in our bays:
- Black drum
- Flounder
- Redfish
- Sheepshead
- Speckled trout
Numerous fishing guides use Conn Brown as a starting point for flats and bay fishing. Local restaurants will even cook your catch so you can enjoy the beautiful vistas after a long day on the water.
More Water than Land
The City of Aransas Pass comprises a total area of 51.8 square miles. The total area of Aransas Pass is 20.71% land and 79.29% water, or 10.7 square miles of land and 41.1 square miles of water. With so much water, how could you not have a great time!
Docks & Boating
You can launch your boat from the public boat ramp at Conn Brown's Harbor Point Park and within minutes, you'll be in some of the best flats fishing areas the Texas coast has to offer! There are piers and miles of shoreline to fish from. Spend the day and utilize our low cost transient docks and boat pump-out.
Repairs to the fishing pier lights is a FEMA project and is waiting for approval.
Commercial Vessels
Commercial vessels requiring temporary dockage may utilize the City Docks along the bulkhead located at N27.54..295, W097.08.055 for a fee of $6/hr. and must call the Harbor Master upon docking to report identity and time of arrival. The Harbor Master can be reached at 361.441.4077
Harbor Entrance
The entrance to Conn Brown Harbor can be found at N27 53.869 W097 08.058 (WGS-84 datum), or near Intracoastal Waterway mile marker 533 in Aransas Pass, Texas. Before you head out, be sure to check the weather forecast. Conn Brown Harbor is a no wake zone. Please maintain idle speed inside the red day beacon at the entrance.
