The City of Aransas Pass is a National Flood Insurance Program participating community. The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) was created in order to provide federally subsidized flood insurance. To make the federally subsidized flood insurance available to residents, the City of Aransas Pass adopted floodplain regulations and Flood Insurance Rate Maps. In order to continue making affordable flood insurance available, the City of Aransas Pass is required to enforce the adopted floodplain regulations based on the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM's).

What is a FIRM?
A Flood Insurance Rate Map identifies areas that are potentially at risk for flood damage. Below you will see links for the City of Aransas Pass's Effective FIRM's as well as the Preliminary FIRM's. An "effective" FIRM is the final map that is adopted by the City. A "preliminary" FIRM is an updated map that has not been officially adopted.
