Mosquito Spraying

Mosquito Spraying

When the city receives a minimum of 10 Mosquito nuisance complaints, the public works department initiates the spraying schedule. The spraying schedule consists of 3 consecutive days (i.e Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) spraying from 5pm to 12am on all city streets predominantly on roads that run North and South.  If employee availability allows, on one of the three consecutive days two employees will spray all alleyways in the city, depending on if the alleys are capable of being driven and are not overgrown.

The city of Aransas Pass does not have a set schedule or "routine" schedule for spraying mosquitos because if we are to spray on a regular routine the mosquitos can develop resistance to the chemical making it useless.
