Navigate 2044

Workshop3 Meeting Banner

On August 8th, City officials and staff met with the consultant team from Asakura-Robinson and K. Kriese + Associates to kick off the Navigate 2044 comprehensive Plan update process.  Aransas Pass’ first comprehensive plan was approved in 2018, and updating it provides an opportunity to refocus from Hurricane Harvey recovery and the COVID-19 pandemic toward a long-term vision for the City’s future development.

The comprehensive plan is the City’s guiding vision and strategy for future development, including land use, housing, transportation, parks and open space facilities and infrastructure.  It provides a 20 year vision and strategy to support the coordinated and thoughtful growth of the City into 2044 through zoning and policy recommendations, and capital improvement projects.   Planning helps Aransas Pass to prepare for efficient and fiscally responsible investments in infrastructure and residents’ quality of life.

The name “Navigate 2044” draws on Aransas Pass’ coastal heritage as the Harbor City, with the tagline “setting the course for the future of Aransas Pass”, while recognizing the role of the comprehensive plan as the City’s visionary document.

Throughout the Fall, there will be multiple opportunities to make your voice heard in the planning process, including community workshops in September, October and December.  These workshops will include interactive activities and feedback opportunities to share your ideas and aspirations with the planning team.   There also will be the chance for online input if you are unable to attend one of the workshops.  If you have any questions please contact Osei-Mensah AICP, City Planner at 361-758-3111.
