I am a native Texan, born and raised in Aransas Pass, Texas. My parents have lived in Aransas Pass all of their lives also. They raised me with high expectations and instilled in me to be independent, that education is key, and to work hard. After graduating from Aransas Pass High School in 1983, I attended Texas A&M and received a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education (1988). I married Monty in 1991(deceased 2014) and had my two sons Clayton (1995) and Cody (1998). I taught school in Corpus Christi, Deer Park, and in Aransas Pass for 23 years. I was an Aransas Pass Little League board member around 2008-2011. I have served on the board of directors for the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce from 2008-2010 and 2018-2020. I have been a member of the Aransas Pass Women's Club since 2009. I am a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church. In May of 2015, I was elected to the Aransas Pass City Council. I have volunteered in many organizations and events all of my life.... Aransas Pass Little League, Aransas Pass Youth football , Aransas Pass city clean-ups, Aransas Pass hurricane recovery, Aransas Pass annual Fall Feast, Heroes on the Water events, and Shrimporee coordinator. I am an avid sport fishing fanatic inshore and offshore. My fiance, Dean Thomas and I, spend as much time as we can on the most beautiful flats of Texas right here in Aransas Pass. I was taught very young how to shoot a rifle and hunt. When not on the water I am working and hunting on my family ranch in deep South Texas. I also enjoy entertaining friends and family at my home. I spend a lot of hours digging, pruning and planting in my yard. My greatest accomplishments are raising my boys, educating hundreds of Aransas Pass students, and being a strong decisive vote on the Aransas Pass City Council.
